The Cuillin Hills
The Cuillin Hills are counted among the most spectacular peaks in Scotland and include 15 mountains above 3,000 feet (900 metres). There are two Cuillin ranges, each with a distinct character. The Red Cuillins are formed of red granite and are rounded and gentle in appearance. The Black Cuillins, by contrast, are jagged, dark peaks, composed of Tertiary volcanic rock.
